Carl

Gopher Snake

Carl is a Pacific gopher snake, a subspecies of gopher snake native to northern California and Oregon. These rattlesnake lookalikes are amazing mimics and will even rattle their tails to scare off potential predators.

Coraline

Milk Snake

Coraline is a rescued pueblan milk snake from a pet store that could not sell her. She is very energetic and happy to explore. Native to Mexico, these snakes are a classic example of mimicry. Milk snakes mimic the coloration of the deadly coral snakes.

Charlie

Crested Gecko

Charlie is a crested gecko, sometimes also called eyelash geckos. Although they were once thought to be extinct, crested geckos can be found on a group of islands called New Caledonia. They use their sticky toe pads to climb and leap from tree to tree in their rainforest home.

Zephyr

Leopard Gecko

Zephyr is an adopted leopard gecko who came to us in 2020. He is curious and always on the lookout for his favorite food, beetle larva, also known as superworms! Leopard geckos store their extra fat from their food in their tail. When they hibernate they use this fat reserve to survive.

Willie

Kenyan Sand Boa

Although his full name is William Snakespeare, you can call him Willie. Kenyan sand boas are very unique snakes. They are very small, only reaching two to three feet long. They use their shovel shaped nose to dig tunnels so they live the majority of their lives underground.

Krem

Hedgehog

Krem is a four toed African hedgehog. She is very energetic and curious about the world around her. Hedgehogs have very poor vision so Krem relies heavily on her incredible hearing and strong sense of smell. When she is scared she will curl into a ball and raise her spikes.

Leia

Ball Python

Leia was the first member of Ms. Maddie's wild crew. She found her third and final home with us in 2018. Although she is the biggest animal in the group, she is the most gentle. Often referred to as the "puppy dogs" of the snake world, ball pythons will curl up into a ball when scared rather than fight.
